Terms of use
Using Shaaro means agreeing to these terms. We wrote them in plain language so students, guardians, teachers and schools can all follow them.
- Shaaro is free to start for students and teachers. Nothing is ever charged without warning.
- Skill groups and practice scores are guidance for learning. They never replace a school exam or a public exam result.
- Questions, notes and files you write stay yours. You let Shaaro show them.
- You can pause or delete your account at any time.
1. Who these terms are for
These terms cover the shaaro.app website and every part of Shaaro: running the school (register, attendance, marks, results, report cards, certificates, fees, SMS, routines, exams and seat plans), papers and quizzes, practice, the resource library, the guardian page and classroom screens. They are operated by Studio Imagine, 83/B Shiddeshwari Circular Road, Malibag, Dhaka 1219. "We" means Shaaro and Studio Imagine; "you" means anyone using Shaaro.
How we keep and use data is set out in the privacy policy. Please read the two together.
2. Who can use Shaaro
- Students can practise without signing in. From Class 9, the school can give a student their own login with a link and a PIN. Under 18, a guardian's consent is needed.
- Guardians need no login. They see their own child's page through the school's link or a G code.
- Teachers, head teachers and office staff: only for the institution where they work. To join a school already on Shaaro, the head teacher approves.
- Private tutors: for their own students, with a name and a mobile number.
- Education officers and teacher trainers: for their own post and area. An officer's account is tied to the post's official mobile, so it passes to whoever takes the post.
3. Accounts and login
- One person, one account. Do not open an account in someone else's name.
- Ways to sign in: Google, a link and PIN, email and password, and a mobile OTP where it is on.
- Never share your PIN, password or OTP. If you think someone knows it, change it at once and tell us.
- Fix your name yourself. For mistakes in the register, such as class, roll or the guardian's number, ask your school.
- A student's record sits in the school's register. The school adds, corrects and removes it.
4. What Shaaro is for
Shaaro makes a school's daily work easier, and uses short quizzes and practice to show how much a student can do and where the gaps are. It is there to help learning and running the school.
- Skill groups and practice scores are guidance, and a teacher can change them. They do not replace school exams, public exams or admission decisions.
- Marks, result sheets and report cards are the school's own records. The school enters and approves them; Shaaro keeps them and does the sums.
- No student may be punished, held back or excluded on the basis of Shaaro practice results alone.
- Shaaro numbers are never the only basis for judging a teacher's work. They are a starting point for a conversation.
5. Cost
Shaaro is free to start for students and teachers. SMS runs on credits the school buys, and every charge shows in the SMS page's account. If we offer extra services to an institution or programme, we will give the price in writing first. A school can keep its fee records in Shaaro, but Shaaro itself collects no fees. No money is ever taken from a student or guardian without their clear consent.
6. What you must not do
- Take quizzes for someone else, or get into someone else's account
- Share another person's name, phone number, photo or results without their permission
- Post anything insulting, threatening, hateful, obscene or unsuitable for children
- Submit someone else's work under your own name
- Pull out the question bank or data with automated tools, or copy Shaaro to build another service
- Try to break Shaaro's security, spread malware, or disrupt the service
- Post adverts, political campaigning or business promotion
If you find a security gap, tell us at hello@shaaro.app (subject "Security"). We thank people who report in good faith and take no action against them.
7. Questions, notes, quizzes and files you write
- You own what you write.
- When you submit, you let Shaaro show it, use it in papers and quizzes, fix its language or spelling, and share it with education authorities for educational use. This permission is free of charge, and you remain free to use your work anywhere else.
- A teacher's question shows the author's name. Outside the school, a student's work shows only a first name and class.
- A teacher's question is checked in two rounds: first by another teacher at the author's school, then by a teacher at another school. A student's work is first checked by their own subject teacher; to show it nationwide, a subject teacher at another school approves.
- If you delete your account, you choose: keep your questions, no longer linked to your account, or delete the ones never used and not yet checked.
- Teachers' points are recognition only and have no cash value.
- Do not submit anything that breaks someone else's copyright, and do not copy long passages from books word for word.
8. Shaaro's own content
Shaaro questions follow the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) textbooks, and each question is tied to a book chapter. Textbook copyright belongs to NCTB. Shaaro's software, design, name and logo belong to Studio Imagine. Each question belongs to the teacher who wrote it, and Shaaro has permission to use it (see section 7).
You may use Shaaro questions for teaching, self-practice and printed papers and quizzes in your school. You may not sell them or load them into another service.
9. Responsibilities of teachers and schools
- Add only students of your own school.
- For students under 18, collect the guardian's consent (on the guardian page, or on a signed paper form) and keep the paper form at school.
- The register, attendance, marks, results, fees, seat plans and certificates are school records. Keeping them correct is the school's responsibility.
- Give a guardian link or G code only to that student's guardian. Send SMS only for school matters, and stop it for a guardian who opts out.
- Do not post screenshots of student data on social media.
10. Reports, removal and suspension
Questions, students' notes and quizzes, and library resources have a "Report" button. Reports about children's safety are handled first. If the terms are broken we may remove content, and for serious or repeated breaches we may suspend the account. An account or connection that takes questions at an unusual rate is paused for 24 hours. Where possible we will tell you first and give the reason. If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal at hello@shaaro.app.
11. Keeping the service running
We work to keep Shaaro running. Much of the work carries on without internet and syncs when the signal returns. Even so, it may sometimes be unavailable because of maintenance, networks or other causes. We announce planned downtime in advance. If we change or retire a feature, we will give reasonable notice and a chance to download your data.
12. Limits of liability
To the extent Bangladesh law allows, Shaaro is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect losses from decisions based on Shaaro results. This section does not reduce your rights where a data breach is caused by our negligence, or where the law does not allow liability to be limited.
13. Pausing or deleting an account
You can pause or delete your account at any time: on the account page (shaaro.app/account), or at shaaro.app/delete-account. For a student without their own login, a guardian or the school can make the request. Details are on that page.
14. Changes to these terms
We will announce significant changes on the website at least 60 days ahead. If you do not accept the new terms, you can delete your account before they take effect.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Bangladesh. If something goes wrong, please write to hello@shaaro.app first and we will try to resolve it within 30 days. If it is not resolved, the competent courts of Bangladesh will have jurisdiction.
